Car Parking

Parking in the hospital grounds is extremely limited. The following link facilitates an oversight of parking facilities within the hospital: click here

Dublin Bus Transport

The Trinity Translational Medicine Institute within the grounds of St. James’s Hospital is serviced by a number of bus routes from Dublin city centre:

  • Bus Route No. 123 travels through the hospital grounds and stops midway as indicated in the map (PDF 293 kB). 
  • Bus Route No. 40 & 13 stop at the hospital entrance on James’s Street as highlighted in the map (PDF 293 kB).

Luas

The Luas provides fast, safe and reliable transfers from Dublin City Centre to the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute within the grounds of St. James’s Hospital via the Red Line. This line also serves Heuston and Connolly Stations.

Tram Times:

Monday – Friday: 5.40 am to 11.50 pm Saturday: 6.40 am to 11.50 pm Sunday & Bank Holidays: 7.10 am to 10.50 pm.

Tram Frequency:

Peak Times: Every 9 – 10 minutes
Off-Peak Times: Every 10 – 15 minutes

Train Services

Dublin is served by two main railway stations: Connolly Station and Heuston Stations. It is recommend that you take the Luas red line from these stations in the direction of ‘Tallaght’ or ‘Saggart’ to the James’s Luas stop – see map (PDF 293 kB)

Taxi

The hospital main concourse, discharge lounge area and Emergency Department have courtesy phones to facilitate calling local taxis. This services is available on a 24/7 basis with no call out charge.

Dublin Bike

There are 40 Dublin Bikes stations distributed throughout the city centre to enable easy access and optimal use. Located in close proximity to each other, every station has a minimum of 15 stands in place.
One station is located in the Hospital Grounds as indicated on the map (PDF 293 kB)
