Tangent's postgraduate offerings attract students from a diverse range of industries, interests and career paths. Our courses in innovation and entrepreneurship bring together students from a variety of backgrounds who use their knowledge and passion to both problem-solve and create commercial opportunities. They also enhance student’s personal and professional development by developing key skills such as critical thinking, empathy, problem-solving, and collaboration.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise Development is aimed at those who want to progress in their chosen careers and those who are thinking of starting their own entrepreneurial journey. The course equips graduates with the creative confidence and skills required to translate ideas into innovative solutions and opportunities. It focuses on experiential and action-led learning and is taught via a combination of online classes and interactive workshops. Graduates will develop their creative potential, their critical and lateral thinking, and an understanding of the societal and economic value that can be achieved by applying an innovative approach in enterprise.

Classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and some Saturdays, starting Jan 25th, 2024. The course is funded under Springboard+, a government initiative offering free and heavily subsidised courses. The fee is €300 for eligible applicants in employment and is free to eligible unemployed applicants.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Innovation is for those who want to help drive a culture of innovation in healthcare. In collaboration with Trinity College School of Medicine and Health Innovation Hub Ireland, this course will enable staff across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors to explore and unlock the potential for innovation to improve health-related products and services. Students will learn the fundamentals of idea development, creative problem-solving, and innovation. They will also learn how to recognise and communicate opportunities with a view to introducing new and improved solutions in a variety of healthcare settings.

The course starts on Jan 29th, 2024 and is delivered over 12 weeks on Fridays and Saturdays. The course fee is €380 for eligible applicants in employment and is free to eligible unemployed applicants.

Both courses are comprised of three taught modules at level 9 NFQ, with a mixture of online and in-person classes, allowing students to balance work and other commitments and study at a pace that suits them.
