LaunchBox, housed within Tangent, embodies Trinity's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship at a student level. Commencing in 2012, this accelerator program is designed for Trinity students, empowering them to carve unique paths during and after their college experience. Annually, ten student ventures are selected, each receiving €10,000 in equity free funding to nurture their concepts.

The structured three-month program is designed to propel their concepts forward and offer a transformative experience for both the individuals and their ventures. The program works closely with founders, offering guidance on business models, marketing, technology, and crucially, developing and refining their pitches. Beyond funding, student entrepreneurs gain access to a network of investors, accomplished founders, and mentors from within Trinity and externally in the start-up and business ecosystem.

LaunchBox boasts a decade of remarkable success stories. Examples include FoodCloud, founded by Iseult Ward in 2012, and Artomatix, acquired for €60 million in 2019. Equine MediRecord, a 2017 participant, recently secured over $10 million in investment. More recent successes include Bounce Insights, ProMotion Rewards, and Field of Vision, named winners of Enterprise Ireland Student Entrepreneur of the Year in 2021.

On September 7th, the result of passion and unyielding work will be on display during Demo Day – the climax of LaunchBox 2023. This event is more than a presentation; it is a showcase of student innovation at Trinity College Dublin.
