Miriam completed Tangent’s Postgraduate Certificate in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship in 2020, and recently spoke of experience studying at Tangent during our online open evening.

People with disabilities often struggle to physically attend classes due to access and transport issues, or due to a lack of appropriate facilities, and inclusive programmes designed to suit their needs, which can lead to isolation and loneliness. Connections Arts Centre seeks to empower members of the disability community to develop their skills and share their experiences with others. It aims to support and connect the disability community through the arts. Through providing various accessible, online arts and lifestyle programmes, it enables participants to learn, grow and interact.

The programmes and classes are uniquely designed, led and developed based on the needs of participants. To date, programmes provided include arts and crafts, watercolour, murals, comic books, yoga, music, aromatherapy and drama. Miriam plans to use the award to develop the centre’s website.
