On 23rd and 24th October, thirty-eight students from Peace Studies courses witnessed first-hand persisting conflict legacies and ongoing peacebuilding work in Northern Ireland as part of the annual field trip.
Visits included the Turas Irish language centre in inner-East Belfast, the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont, and Clonard Monastery, location of secret talks during the peace process. The group also explored on foot the regenerated Titanic Quarter as well as ‘peace walls’ and political murals and memorials in the East and West of the city.
