Professor Martin Worthington has been awarded the Gold Medal of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia) for his contributions to the sciences. The medal was presented by Professor Erekle Astakhishvili, the Deputy Rector (Vice-Rector) of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

Tbilisi State University recently published a book The Epic of Gilgamesh Transliteration by academician Tamaz Gamkrelidze, for which Professor Worthington contributed the foreword.
