The announcement was made at the Laidlaw Celebration in the Examinations Hall in November, which was attended by his supervisors Dr Rachel Hoare (Department of French) and Dr Catherine Leen (Department of Hispanic Studies).

Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme
The Laidlaw Scholars Leadership and Research Programme aims to develop a new generation of leaders who are skilled researchers, embrace data-based decision making, and believe it is a moral imperative to lead with integrity. The 2026 Laidlaw Scholars programme is open for applications (deadline: 10 February 2026).
