Field of Vision
Field of Vision is a sports tech company that creates AI‑powered handheld devices enabling visually impaired fans to feel live sports in real time. Its devices use computer‑vision to track key game events - such as ball movement, passes, tackles, and goals - with minimal latency, translating them into tactile sensations via a movable magnetic ball and custom haptic feedback system. By augmenting traditional audio commentary, the platform offers a multisensory experience, “feel the game, hear the game, live the game”, allowing users to immerse themselves in the energy of live sport without visual cues.
Trinity Added Value
- Field of Vision won first prize at the LaunchBox 2021 Demo Day, and is still helmed by LaunchBox alumni founders David Deneher, Tim Farrelly, and Omar Salem
- The LaunchBox accelerator is structured to help teams at different stages, and working on ideas in different industries, to progress over a 12-week programme

- Deployed devices at Aviva Stadium for Ireland vs England Six Nations and multiple Six Nations fixtures in partnership with Guinness, IRFU, and Voice of Vision Impairment Ireland (2025)
- Featured in demonstrations at FIFA Club World Cup (Philadelphia) with Manchester City, Wydad AC, and Overbrook School for the Blind (2025)
- Named among TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions (2022)
- The cofounders still donate time to the LaunchBox programme, and most recently came in as part of 2025’s Mentor Madness event
Impact of LaunchBox
“LaunchBox was crucial for Field of Vision in our early days. It provided the funding, guidance, and credibility we needed to grow the business, all while we continued our studies.”
