Partnership Objective
To deliver the Carbon Removal ClimAccelerator, a Europe-wide accelerator focused on carbon dioxide removal (CDR) startups. The programme, developed with EIT Climate-KIC and funded by Munich Re and ERGO, aimed to validate and scale breakthrough CDR solutions aligned with sustainability and insurance sector priorities.
Trinity Added Value
- Design and delivery of a structured two-stage accelerator for early-stage climate startups.
- Access to expert mentoring across climate tech, investment readiness, legal and impact modelling.
- Integration of Trinity’s academic expertise in carbon removal and sustainability.
Partnership Activities and Approach
- Stage 1 (12 weeks): Business fundamentals for 15 startups, including non-dilutive grants.
- Stage 2 (15 weeks): Investor readiness and validation for 5–8 selected startups.
- Hybrid delivery model using Zoom, Slack, Miro, and Notion for structured support and collaboration.
- Stakeholder engagement through demo days, monthly updates, and partner communications.
Impact
The accelerator supported over 72 startups across multiple cohorts, generating €20M+ in follow-on funding.
Highlighted outcomes:
- NEG8 Carbon: €2.5M revenue and commercial deployments.
- Point2Hectare: €600,000 raised and strategic partnerships secured.
- ClimeRock: Validated MRV system with research institutions.
