Hong Kong Announces New Scholarship
Posted on 08 January 2015
The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES), launched at the close of 2014, is now open for applications. The Scholarship for Excellence aims to support Hong Kong students to pursue their studies in world renowned universities outside Hong Kong, including here in Trinity.
The Scheme has been introduced with a view to fostering a top cadre of students with global vision, international networks and a world-class education. The Scheme also seeks to support those students who have excellent academic achievement, but lack the financial means to study in top ranking universities outside Hong Kong.
All awardees will receive a non-means-tested scholarship to cover their tuition fees, subject to a ceiling of HK$250,000 per annum. Additional means-tested funding is also available to successful scholarship applicants.
To be eligible for HKSES, applicants are required to:
- Have right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong, or have entered Hong Kong on One-way Permits; and
- Have resided in Hong Kong continuously for three complete years immediately prior to the commencement of the academic programme outside Hong Kong
As Ireland’s only Top 100 university, Trinity College Dublin hopes to welcome successful HKSES applicants in the academic year 2015/2016.
The deadline for applications is 31 January 2015. More details can be found here.
