Critique

Critique is the use of oral or written discussion to analyse an artefact. Critique is an accepted signature pedagogy in the performing arts (16) and in both visual fine arts and visual design-orientated programmes (17). Traditionally, critique was conveyed hierarchically, with the educator delivering feedback to the student. However, this method has changed to a more integrated approach where equal voice is given to the self, peer and faculty critique (18). Critique is used in the studio, classroom, and rehearsal hall to teach students theory and practical skills.
