PhD Research

Michael is a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Piggott Lab working on the AQUACOSM+ EUH2020 INFRAIA ExStream Ireland Project. Michael graduated with a Trinity Gold Medal and First-Class Honours BA in Zoology from Trinity College, Dublin in 2023. He completed his thesis, entitled ‘Maternal temperature does not influence offspring disease resistance during transgenerational temperature shifts in Daphnia magna’, with the supervision of Dr Pepijn Luijckx. 
He is eager to expand his understanding of multiple stressor interactions and will be principally researching invertebrate and microbial responses to freshwater multiple stressors.
