Latest Voluntary Opportunities Update

October 2016

Treshold Trianing Network are recruiting volunteers for their Head Out Project.

 Are you;

  • Available for 2 hours per fortnight for 6 months?
  • A good listener who enjoys encouraging others?
  • Interested in making a difference in the lives of people who feel isolated because of their mental health difficulties?

The 'Head Out Project' supports people with mental health difficulties to participate in their community, through the involvement of volunteer partners, empowering them to re-establish and expand personal interests, contacts and access resources within their community, thus alleviating social isolation and loneliness.

How it works:

Participants are matched with a volunteer and they engage in a social activity together once every 2 weeks. This is a social outing of interest to both, and may include: going to the cinema, going for a walk, having a cup of coffee, a library visit, playing a sport etc.

Volunteers receive full training, on-going support and out of pocket expenses for their role.

How do I get involved?

If you are interested in becoming involved as a Volunteer in this enjoyable and innovative community project please contact the Project Co-ordinator for more information. Training on 11th and 25th October 2016.
