Team Leader for Buckets for Barnardos - Friday 18th September

Barnardos Children’s Charity are looking for Team Leaders to help coordinate a collection for Barnardos in your local area on Friday 18th September and help raise 100,000 euro for disadvantaged children and their families in communities around Ireland.
In Dublin we will be bag packing in Tesco stores throughout the county, while also collecting on street in various areas throughout the day. We also have hundreds of other locations throughout the country.

Main duties/tasks will include:

  • To participate and collect donations in your local community on Friday 18th September
  • Recruit additional volunteers by asking family, friends or colleagues who you think would be interested in volunteering.
  • You may choose to be at the venue for the whole collection, with your friends and colleagues joining you at different times to help you collect, or simply start the collection off, arrange a rota for people to take on shifts during the day and be there at the end to complete the collection.
  • On the day itself, ensure all collectors are prepared and equipped to collect.
  • Encourage members of the public to donate to Barnardos using the collection materials provided.
  • At the end of the day you’ll need to collect all the materials from the last wave of volunteers and make sure the cash is moved to a safe location where you can count and bank it.
  • Represent Barnardos to those you come into contact with.

Skills required for this position:

  • Good communicator
  • Good organisational skills
  • Self-directed and an ability to work independently
  • Professional but welcoming manner
  • An interest in the work of Barnardos
