Biography

Dr. Victor Acinas Garzon has over 15 years of experience as an academic and practitioner managing global technology-driven businesses in Spain, Finland and Ireland. He is an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Trinity College Dublin, where he lectures in the area of business within the Engineering with Management degree. He is also responsible for public-private partnerships in Europe at Applied Materials, the world"s largest semiconductor and display equipment supplier.

Currently he is a Technical Expert Group member of the Association for European NanoElectronics ActivitieS (AENEAS), Steering Committee Member of the Advanced Materials European Technology Platform (EuMaT) and Industry Committee Member of the Advanced Manufacturing Center in Ireland (I-Form).

In previous roles he has been leading the internationalisation strategy of the Irish Technology Centre on Nanotechnology, CCAN, an R&D Project Manager at Abengoa, the largest Spanish multinational in the energy and renewable sector, and a researcher and lecturer in electronics at Tampere University of Technology in Finland.

Dr. Victor Acinas Garzon received a BSc and MSc in Telecommunication Electronics in Spain, a MSc in Industrial Management in Finland and a PhD in Business from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. His PhD focused on strategic alliances in the emerging area of nanotechnology. He is interested in the areas of strategic alliances, R&D collaborations, venture capital and start-ups driven by deep tech and emerging technologies.
