Travel Bursary Report October 2023 - Rose Doolan Maher
Rose is a fourth Year PhD candidate in the School of Social Work and Social Policy, the TRiSS Travel Bursary helped fund her trip to the ISPCAN (International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) Congress in Uppsala Sweden from August 18th -21st 2024.
ISPCAN –. Attending this conference will be a forever standout point of my PhD journey in the School of Social Work and Social Policy. The ISPCAN Congress(2024) brought together the brightest minds in child protection to innovate and share best practices at this global forum. This conference gave me the opportunity to information share, disseminating findings of qualitative data related to the complex intersection of child protection and welfare, disability, and internet use.
This three-day forum was packed full of outstanding presentations, seminars, workshops, the learning was immense with opportunities to meet academics and researchers who are authoritative in this field with possible opportunities for collaboration in the future.
It was an amazing experience; I am very grateful to Trinity Research in Social Sciences travel bursary for part sponsoring this trip. I would not have been able to attend without it.
