Student Assistance Fund (ESF/SAF)

The Student Assistance Fund (ESF/SAF) is managed by the Higher Education Authority on behalf of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. (ESF+ 2021-2027) The following are examples of situations for which students can apply for assistance:
  • Books / Class Materials
  • Medical Expenses
  • Rent
  • Heating / Lighting Bills
  • Family breakdown
  • Food
  • Essential Travel
  • Bereavement
  • Childcare costs
The following services are NOT eligible for assistance from this fund:
  • Tuition Fees
  • Registration Fees
  • Loans
