The aim of this project is to introduce Transition Year students to the European cultural institutes in Dublin City. For this purpose, the Trinity Access Programme and Goethe-Institut Irland are working together with a number of national cultural institutes of the European Union (EUNIC) to organise several programme days for our TAP students.

Travelling the continent of Europe has never been easier; for example, flights to the mainland often cost less than a taxi. The aim of this project is to get to know the cultures and languages of European countries. During the programme, students have the opportunity to discover the food, language, literature, theatre and cinema of European cultures.

Programme partners include; the Goethe-Institut Irland, Instituto Cervantes Dublin, Alliance Française Dublin, Istituto Italiano di Cultura Dublino, European Commission, and the European Movement Ireland.

The programme plans to encourage a sense of creative expression amongst its participants and also deepen their cultural capital by exposing students to new subjects available to them at third-level. These sessions provide opportunities for students to explore topics of art, culture, literature and politics through an emphasis on the challenges placed upon freedom (Brexit, immigration and the climate crisis) in Europe today.
