Lab Facilities at NatPro

Our primary facilities include four state-of-the-art equipment suits operated by qualified researchers at high-quality standards. Among our equipment, some of which are ACT-labelled (the Environmental Impact Factor label):

CEM EDGE® extraction system

Here at NaPro, the CEM EDGE is primarily used to carry out solvent extraction of plant material for various plant species native to Irish peatlands, as part of our Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy research project. However, the CEM EDGE can accommodate many different matrixes and be applied in various fields or commercial research.

High-Performance Size Exclusion Chromatography system (HP-SEC)

Here at the NatPro Centre for Natural Products Research we primarily use the system for the molecular weight analysis of the plant polysaccharides as a part of our Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy research project, but the HP-SEC can easily be adapted to accommodate other rheological studies on macromolecules for a variety of other research or commercial samples.

Milestone Ethos X microwave extraction system

Here at the NatPro Centre for Natural Products Research we primarily use the instrument to extract essential oils from a variety of plant species native to Irish peatland areas as part of our Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy research project but the Ethos X can easily be adapted to accommodate a variety of other research or commercial samples and applications.
