Upcoming Events

We run events, talks and workshops on all aspects of literary translation. Our events are open to the public and, unless stated otherwise, admission is free. Events are usually held at Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, 36 Fenian Street, Dublin D02 CH22 (two minutes' walk from Trinity's Lincoln Gate), and occasionally at larger venues on campus. Most of our events are run in hybrid format, so you can join from wherever you are in the world. Book launch: Francis Bacon's Nanny
6-7pm, Friday 17 May 2024

Please join us for the launch of Francis Bacon's Nanny by Maylis Besserie, translated from the French by Clíona Ní Ríordáin. We will be joined by both writer and translator for a discussion and readings of extracts from the book. This event is organised in collaboration with The Lilliput Press, with the kind support of the French Embassy in Ireland. All are welcome and admission is free, but booking is essential

World fiction book club: Things I Didn't Throw Out

At our final book club meeting this term, we will be be discussing Things I Didn't Throw Out by Marcin Wicha, translated from the Polish, by Marta Dziurosz. All welcome, book your place here.

Murakami book club: After Dark and Men Without Women
11am, Tuesdays, 21 May and 18 June 2024 (online)

The Murakami book club will meet on 21st May to discuss After Dark. All welcome, book your place here.

The group will also meet on Tuesday, 18th June, to discuss Men Without Women. Book your place here.

29-30 May 2024: International Conference
'What we talk about when we talk about Haruki Murakami's translators: their roles and significance'
