What is the Articulation Partnership between IMU and Trinity?

Students from IMU can apply for advanced entry into Year Three of the Trinity Bachelor in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics. Students must first complete five semesters of study at IMU in order to be eligible to apply.

Why Study Medicine at Trinity College Dublin?

The School of Medicine is Ireland’s leading medical school and ranks as one of the world’s top medical schools (QS World Ranking by Subject 2026 – 95th for Medicine). The School of Medicine is the leading research school in Trinity, home to over 800 highly diverse researchers and spanning 21 medical and scientific disciplines.

The School of Medicine is a multidisciplinary school comprising Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Human Health and Disease, and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Over 90% of the academic staff are highly active in research. Fifty per cent of senior principal investigators are clinical academics combining their clinical commitments with their academic activities.

  • Students are referred to Trinity by IMU.
  • Interview with Trinity staff.
  • English Proficiency Requirements must be met. Applicants to this course are required to meet Band B (Standard Entry) English language requirements. For more details of qualifications that meet Band B, see the English Language Requirements page 
  • Students should have a GPA of 3.3 or above or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of 5 semesters of the MBBS programme at IMU.

*Admission to the first three years of the programme will be made as per the entry requirements of IMU.

Successful students are invited to submit an application for Advanced Entry into Year Three of the programme at Trinity. Deadline for Advanced Entry into Medicine is February 1st each year.
