Provost's Council

Provost's Council

The Provost’s Council brings together a network of leading international Trinity alumni and supporters who act as advisors to the College. Council members are based in Ireland, UK, France, Germany, US, Middle East and Asia. This Council is unique in Trinity’s history - it’s the first time that an official external group has been created to help plan Trinity’s future direction.

Trinity has always benefitted from the support of alumni and friends. In November 2013, the University convened the Trinity Global Graduate Forum. Over 200 graduates and friends came together and out of this hugely popular forum, the Provost’s Council was established.

There are currently 46 Provost Council members who have achieved exceptionally in their lives and careers and are leaders in finance, manufacturing, retail, investment, property, law, film and new ventures, and are based in Ireland, UK, France, Germany, US, Middle East and Asia. The Provost, the Board and the whole College have been inspired by their commitment and enthusiasm, their readiness to share their expertise and draw on their networks to help further some of the University’s most ambitious ventures. Plans are underway to expand the membership of this group further.

One of the main sources of funding for the TCD Association & Trust comes from the TCD Affinity Credit Card. With over 10,000 cardholders to date, a percentage of the annual turnover on these cards is donated back to College by Bank of Ireland.

Alumni Mentors

Every year hundreds of alumni support thousands of Trinity students with their career planning through our mentoring programmes, on campus events and new online mentoring platform. This support is invaluable to students who benefit from the real world career experience of our graduates. Students gain insights into current trends in industry, they pick up CV and interview tips and often go on to secure internships and jobs in their desired field. Alumni too benefit greatly both personally and professionally from these interactions with current students and the opportunity to give something back to Trinity. Click here to find out more.

Ambassadors

Alumni are the University’s greatest ambassadors and can play a vital role in attracting and inspiring the next generation of Trinity students. Our International Ambassadors play a key role in encouraging new students from around the world, offering their personal insights into the Trinity experience and sharing their stories of post-Trinity life to help students decide if Trinity is right for them.

These alumni support Trinity’s Student Recruitment Team by providing testimonials about their experiences at Trinity and beyond, by attending Higher Education Fairs and regional Open Days, and by visiting Schools to speak with prospective students and their families.
