How to Apply
• Applicants, who are expected to have a university degree or equivalent qualification, normally in English or another appropriate subject, will be selected on the basis of a portfolio of recent creative work submitted with the application. The portfolio of sample work should include no more than 3000 words of prose (short stories, excerpt/s from a novel or drama) or 6-8 poems; genres may be combined but this is not a requirement. Students are required to take workshops, attend courses of lectures, and take one specialist writing workshop, while continuing to develop their own individual work throughout the year.
• An IELTS or TOEFL Score: All our courses are in English. Non-native speakers will need to provide certification of one the following in the past two years: either an IELTS score of 6.5 or above, with no band below 6; or a TOEFL score of at least IBT 90. If your primary degree was in English, then you can ignore this requirement.
• Two confidential references – nominate and provide email addresses for two referees, one of which should be academic, the Student Online Application will then send an automated form for completion.
• You will also be required to upload transcripts of your degree, together with a Curriculum Vitae, references and the portfolio writing sample.
