Postgraduate Research Fellowship Report - Louisa Roos
Louisa Roos, a second year PhD candidate in the Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, was one of 2022/23's recipients of a TRiSS Postgraduate Fellowships.
"The TRiSS Research Fellowship was key in allowing me to kick-start my first research project on the gender impacts of monetary policy," Louisa said.
"Most fundamentally, the funding allowed me to access the data required to conduct my analysis."
"I used the remaining funding to attend conferences where I presented the project to an international crowd."
At the Feminist Economics Conference in Cape Town, Louisa won second prize for her poster on the topic (https://www.iaffe.org/2023-poster-session).
"The feedback I received at these conferences improved my research considerably, as a consequence of which I won the Swiss Global Excellence Scholarship to further work on this project during a visiting fellowship at the University of Zurich. I am deeply grateful to TRiSS for seeing the potential in this project and opening up these opportunities for me."
