Doctoral Thesis Summary
My research is at the intersection of applied microeconomics and development economics with a thematic focus on forced displacement. Much of my research uses GIS data and self-collected/secondary data to investigate the impacts of forced internal displacement on the population displaced, their host communities, and the population left behind. Namely, I combine GIS techniques and causal inference methods to look at three main aspects: (i) intra-household dynamics within the displaced households; (ii) the role of cultural norms; and (iii) community-hosting implications.
