Irish Quantitative History Group

The Irish Quantitative History seminar (IQH) is held once a year, usually in late January and, where possible, face-to-face in TRiSS with an option for others to join remotely. The group is inherently multidisciplinary, with academics from history, economics, business, geography and other disciplines in attendance. It also prides itself on supporting both new and established researchers. Each workshop usually takes the form of 6-7 presentations, mostly (but not exclusively) on topics relating to Ireland's history, with some quantitative element. Presentations are 20-25 minutes in length, with 15-20 minutes set aside for a supportive round-table discussion. Given the format, the typical work presented is at a reasonably early stage, so that it can benefit from the thoughts and comments offered by those in attendance. A call for papers is issued by TRiSS, on behalf of the IQH, mid-year and the IQH Organising Committee then reviews all expressions of interest, usually confirming a line-up for the January meeting by late October.
