In an era of corporate social media dominated by big-tech ideologists and the rise of AI, how does traditional reporting continue to serve our world, or fail to serve it?
In our second Behind the Headlines special anniversary panel, we are joined by leading journalists, media professionals and academic researchers including Bruce Shapiro (chair); Rory Carroll (the Guardian); Daniel Geary (TCD History); Deirdre McCarthy (Managing Director, News and Current Affairs, RTÉ); Razan Ibraheem (journalist).

Please note that as this event will be recorded, late entry may not be permitted.

The Trinity Long Room Hub’s ‘Behind the Headlines’ discussion series offers background analyses on current issues by experts drawing on the long-term perspectives of Arts & Humanities research. It aims to provide a forum that deepens understanding, combats simplification and creates space for informed and respectful public discourse.
This panel is part of a symposium to mark the 10th anniversary of the Behind the Headlines series, which is supported by the John Pollard Foundation.
