Philosophical Society TY Week

About: This is a week long Transition Year programme delivered by the Philosophical Society. "The Phil", Trinity's Philosophical Society, is the oldest student society in the world. Students will be given a full experience of what it's like to be a debater and college student. The Phil will work with students throughout the week to perfect their debating styles and showing ways in which you can democratically argue. Aim: The purpose of the programme is to inspire an interest in debating with a broader goal of increasing the representation of students on campus societies. Students will be encouraged to study in Trinity College and made aware of the range of degrees that incorporate the skills of debating. Placement: There are 4 places and 1 reserve per school. Recruitment begins via the Schools Mailer with the programme running in mid-March.
