CodePlus gives female students an opportunity to explore careers and study in the field of computer science through a project-based collaborative learning environment. This is with a view to supporting girls to make a more informed choice when it comes to considering college pathways related to computing and technology.
The programme is a mix of team-based, hands-on coding projects, problem solving and computational thinking activities, and an opportunity to meet with women either studying or working in the field. As an ancillary goal, the programme also supports students in gaining a better insight into college life generally, becoming more confident in meeting new students, and gaining some skills in public speaking and communication.
