Cultivating Creative Confidence: The Journey of an Idea – TEU00661 – Semester 1
Why should I take this Trinity Elective?
Creative confidence is the belief that you can generate ideas, express them clearly, and shape them into something meaningful.
Many students are creative, but hesitate to speak up, share ideas, or take creative risks. This module aims to change that.
Delivered by Trinity Innovation & Enterprise, this elective is designed to help you strengthen your creative voice in a supportive, practical and interdisciplinary environment. You will learn how to:
- Embrace your imagination
- Take creative risks
- Develop ideas through experimentation
- Communicate your thinking with clarity and impact
Through playful workshops, storytelling frameworks, prototyping and AI collaboration, you will move from “I’m not sure” to “I can do this.”
Creative confidence is not about being artistic. It’s about being courageous, reflective, adaptable and expressive, skills that matter in every discipline and every career.
If you want to build belief in your own ideas and learn how to communicate them with purpose, this elective is for you.
What will I learn?
On successful completion of this module, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate creative confidence through play, simulation, and reflection.
- Craft and share compelling stories that communicate ideas effectively to a chosen audience and purpose.
- Experiment with digital tools to prototype and visualise ideas.
- Apply AI-human collaboration to strengthen creativity and critical reflection.
- Synthesize creative thinking through the public display of their creative journey and ideas.
What will I do?
- Take part in creative workshops using LEGO® Serious Play and collaborative challenges
- Practise storytelling to give structure and clarity to your ideas
- Experiment with digital tools to prototype and visualise concepts
- Work in multidisciplinary teams to explore problems from different perspectives
- Create a final showcase that demonstrates your creative journey
Each week builds your confidence step-by-step, from generating ideas to publicly presenting them.
How will this be delivered?

You can expect:
- Learn how to visualise and prototype ideas using digital tools
- Structured creative exercises and guided reflection
- Online materials to support skill development
