Professor Richard Layte was the Chair of the Organising Committee of the event. He moderated many of the talks over the course of the conference.
The keynote speakers for the conference were Professor Valentina Di Stasio (European University Institute) and Professor Moris Triventi (University of Milan). The three-day conference also featured talks by sociologists from around the world, including the University of Oxford, Sciences Po, Paris, Stockholm University and our own colleagues at Trinity College Dublin.
The talks were held in various theatres around the Arts Building including the Edmund Burke Theatre, Synge Theatre and Emmet Theatre. The ECSR 2026 was jointly organised between the Department of Sociology, Trinity College Dublin and the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).
