Dr Ann Buckley

Bernard Meehan

My research interests include the patronage, production and use of liturgical manuscripts in medieval Ireland; the liturgical cults of Irish saints in Ireland, Britain and Europe; song and society in medieval Europe.

I am editor of a forthcoming book on the liturgical veneration of Irish saints in medieval Europe (Brepols, 2016); an illustrated catalogue of liturgical manuscripts made or used in Ireland between c. 1050 and c. 1500 is currently in preparation (with Laura Cleaver). As well as publishing my research in written form, I also collaborate with musicians in producing recordings and public performances, focusing in particular on the surviving corpus of liturgical offices for Irish saints.
