The DULJ is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal, published by Clarus Press on behalf of the School of Law, Trinity College Dublin. It provides a forum for scholarly reflection on Irish law as well as developments from across the common law world, in European and international law, and in legal theory. The journal welcomes work from a wide range of scholarly and methodological perspectives: doctrinal, theoretical, comparative, critical. 

Submissions are invited in the following categories: 

(a)     Articles and Review Articles: These should be no more than 10,000 words including footnotes, and should contain an abstract of no more than 150 words. 

(b)    Recent Developments Notes (Cases, Legislation, etc): These should be no more than 5,000 words including footnotes, and should contain an abstract of no more than 100 words. 

 

All submissions to the Dublin University Law journal should:

  • Conform to OSCOLA Ireland legal citation style
  • Remove all references that might identify the author(s)
  • Be accompanied by a statement that the article is not under review at any other journal and that you are submitting it to the Dublin University Law Journal on an exclusive basis
  • Be accompanied by a statement indicating the author(s), their affiliations, and any acknowledgements they wish to make.
  • If ethical approval has been obtained for any research presented in the article, be accompanied by a statement indicating when and by whom ethical approval was granted.

The deadline for inclusion in the second issue of 2026 is 14 August 2026.
