Nominations Open for Trinity’s Global Engagement Awards 2017

Posted on 4 May 2017

In recognition of the long-standing commitment Trinity has had to internationalisation, the Global Engagement Awards will be held once again in 2017. This award is intended to celebrate current or past faculty and administrative members, or additionally academic teams who have demonstrated excellence in significantly promoting the global values of Trinity, either through international relationship building in education or research, global philanthropy, engagement, or significant and lasting international understanding in some platform in a spirit of scholarly collegiality.

Nominees can be current or past faculty and administrative members and must demonstrate excellence in one or more of the set criteria. The judging panel will be seeking important traits in selected nominees, inclusive of an ability to identify innovative educational opportunities; a passion for encouraging international activities in students and staff alike, both on and off campus, and serving the global community as a leader in their field. Each nominee must have a working record at Trinity at a minimum of three years.

Up to three awards will be given each year and will be open to both current and past academic or administrative staff members. Winners and their nominator will be invited to an award ceremony that will take place in June hosted by the Provost.

Each awardee will receive €2000 each. It is envisaged that the awards will support the awardees in the advancement of their professional endeavours and engagement in a region strategic to their School or profession, in collaboration with the Global Relations Office. It is hoped that the award winners will contribute to events that support the implementation of the Global Relations Strategy.

All nominations for the Global Engagement Award should be submitted by 10th May 2017. Third-party and self-nominations are welcome.
