Trinity Celebrates Thanksgiving
Posted on 26 November 2015
This year the Global Relations Office hosted a Thanksgiving Celebration for students on Thursday 26 November. The event took place in the Global Room – a dedicated international student space on campus, to celebrate cultural diversity within Trinity. The event was held over lunchtime today for Trinity’s many North American students – both visiting and full-time students – as a way of marking the occasion before attending their own evening Thanksgiving celebrations. The event proved so popular, that bookings closed in advance of the celebration, as capacity in the Global Room was reached.
As part of the festivities, a range of pies, brownies and warming drinks were offered, in addition to a virtual blazing fire in the background to set the scene. Before the event, a survey was conducted asking students to select their favourite Thanksgiving film. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was the film of choice and was shown as part of the celebrations.
Students certainly got into the spirit of the day, as can be seen from the photo above. Additional photos are available on our Facebook Thanksgiving Photo Album at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.954682461282069.1073741857.334782769938711&type=3
Many students will be celebrating with a full thanksgiving dinner later this evening, so we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students a very Happy Thanksgiving!
