Trinity Global Engagement Sessions Schedule Announced

partnership study abroadThe Trinity Global Engagement Sessions will take place between Monday 20th April and Friday 1st May in the Trinity Global Room.

This is an opportunity for staff and students to learn more about Trinity’s global impact and provide feedback on initiatives that will help the University continue to improve internationally. The Global Engagement Sessions aim to provide insights and an understanding of developments and current international activities being led by the Global Relations Office.

During the two weeks, the Global Room will act as an ‘ideas space’ outside of scheduled events. A comment box will be available for all ideas, insights and suggestions for improvements.

Events will take place between 12.30-2pm. A sandwich lunch will be provided. To confirm your attendance, please RSVP to tcdglobalroom@tcd.ie indicating the session(s) you plan on attending so we can cater accordingly.

The dates and themes of the Global Engagement Sessions are as follows:

Monday 20th April 2015: Global Engagement
Open to the entire Trinity community, this session will be led by Professor Juliette Hussey and aims to give an update on developments with the Global Relations Strategy. Input and feedback from attendees will be encouraged.

Tuesday 21st April 2015: Globally Engaged Students
Students are encouraged to attend this session which will be chaired by the Dean of Students, Kevin O'Kelly. The event aims to explore the benefits of developing a more global university and highlight the opportunities that exist for students looking to develop a more global profile. Student insights and feedback on how Trinity can continue to improve in this area are welcome.

Monday 27th April 2015: Strategic Opportunities
Led by the Director of Internationalisation, Sinead Ryan, this session will provide insights into activities in strategic regions around the world and will be a forum to explore opportunities that may exist and to share information on initiatives.

Tuesday 28th April 2015: Partnerships
Using the case study of Singapore Institute of Technology, this session will give insights into the developing area of academic partnerships.

The Trinity Global Engagement Sessions will conclude on Friday 1st May when the winners of the Global Engagement Awards will be announced. Details of nominees and the contribution made to global education, cultural understanding and global experiences that directly benefit the Trinity community will be posted online following the event.
