Trinity Students Spread Colour and Fun for the 2015 Celebration of Holi
Posted on 06 March 2015
Hundreds of Trinity students turned out to celebrate Holi, the Indian festival of colours, in Trinity's historic Front Square on Friday. Organised by the student-run Trinity Indian Society, the Holi festival is famous for the throwing of coloured powder at friends in celebration of the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
The event, which included Indian music and dancing, is one of the most exciting occasions in the College's calendar of international themed events.
Trinity College Dublin's Holi celebration is one of the largest in Ireland, with each year seeing an increase in numbers. This year, the event was sold out days in advance with queues for entry forming around Front Square.Further information on the festival and pictures from the event are available through the Trinity Indian Society's Facebook page.
