Course Availability
CUHK offers courses under the faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science, and Social Science. Many of these courses are open to exchange students. Certain courses have restrictions for exchange students to attend. For information about courses available at CUHK, course restrictions, credits, and course descriptions, please visit CUHK’s website.
CUHK has restrictions on certain courses for exchange students.
At CUHK, one unit or credit is roughly equivalent to one hour of instruction per week. Most three-unit courses feature either three hours of lectures or two hours of lectures and one hour of tutorials per week. Students receive credits for all courses successfully completed, according to the academic standards of the department.
All exchange students should take a full load of courses, i.e., between 9 and 18 units per term.

Course Availability
For information about courses available at HKU by faculty, course restrictions, credits, and course descriptions, please visit HKU’s website. The approval of courses is on a case-by-case basis / subject to the faculty's approval. Actual enrolment is subject to class availability, courses offered in the first semester, quota, and class schedule.
Please note, all courses are taught in English, except courses offered by the School of Chinese.
Students must take 24-30 credits (6 per course in general) for each semester.
50% of the course load must be chosen from one Faculty (student’s intended host faculty). It is optional for students to take the remaining credits from other faculties. Common Core courses will not count as part of the fulfilment of the 50% requirement of course enrolment for incoming students.
Students admitted to the Faculty of Law can choose no more than 6 credits of non-law course (i.e., 1 course) in each semester.
Students may take up to two Common Core courses from a selective menu, each from a different Area of Inquiry - 'Scientific and Technological Literacy', 'Humanities', 'Global Issues' and 'China: Culture, State and Society'.
The approval of a course is on a case-by-case basis.
Approval on taking Common Core courses is on a first-come-first-served basis during the Course Selection period, and by auto-ballot during the Add/Drop period. More details are available here.

Course Availability
Visit CityU’s website to view the course list for exchange students, please scroll down to Application Procedures > Submit Your Application > Select Courses for Your Study Plan.
Exchange students must take full-time credit-unit load, i.e., at least 12 credits per semester to meet the visa requirements set by the Hong Kong SAR Immigration.
Some courses do not accept exchange students. For prerequisite required courses, students must have taken courses considered equivalent to the prerequisite and provide evidence at the time of application.
All courses are taught in English, unless otherwise specified.

Exchange students are required to enroll as full-time student during your Exchange/Study Abroad at PolyU. You are expected to complete at least 9 credits and a maximum of 18 credits per semester. Most PolyU subjects carry 3 credits each.
You will pick an academic department that offers the academic programme you are following at Trinity. Being attached to a Host department will give you priority in registering for subjects within that department. At least 50% of your enrolled subjects must come from the host department. The rest of your study load can be subjects offered by other departments.
