Spring Semester / Hilary Term Exchange and Study Abroad Applications Closed.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students applying to study in Trinity on Exchange must first be nominated by their home university.
  • Be currently registered at the university that is nominating you. 
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.1 out of 4.0 or its equivalent. Some areas of study have special minimum requirements, for the list, please see the Global Mobility Guide.
  • Have completed a minimum of two years study at a high standard. 
  • Students participating in a 3-year degree should have a minimum of one year study at a high standard. Please be aware that some schools may refuse admission to students who have under two years of study experience as they may not meet the necessary prerequisites.
  • If English is not your first language, you are required to provide proof of English language proficiency. Requirements can be found here.

Application Deadlines for Exchange and Study Abroad Applicants

Please note that early application is recommended as demand for places is high.

  Autumn Term (Michaelmas Term) and Full Year Spring Term (Hilary and Trinity Terms)
Applications Open 20th January 1st August
Applications Close 15th April 15th October

 

Application Instructions

Whenever you are studying abroad through a study abroad programme provider (see Ways to Come to Trinity for more information), you will submit your application to the provider directly, not through Trinity’s online system. If possible, please use your home university email address when applying to Trinity. Please ensure that the email address you input in the application portal is accurate.

To apply, click on the appropriate application link at the top of this page and create your log in.

You will need an official university transcript, letter of recommendation, and academic statement.

For consideration, you must complete and submit the online application by the deadline.

There is no fee to submit your application.

Tuition and Fees

Fee-paying Study Abroad students find your fees here Fees - Courses | Trinity College Dublin. Please filter the table by the academic year you are applying to and under School, apply the filter “International and EU Visiting/Erasmus Students”.

Study Abroad students applying through a provider (see Ways to Come to Trinity) will submit your application to the provider directly and will pay tuition and fees via the provider, not through Trinity’s online system.
