Professor Humphreys spoke about his own development research, from his work in Sierra Leone in the late 90s to other projects in the Congo. He advised fellow researchers to maintain an independent agenda: connecting impact evidence to more fundamental theories of development processes.
Professor Humphreys in an Honorary Professor of Trinity College Dublin and Humboldt University. He is also the Director of the Institutions and Political Inequality Group at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.
