Davide Romelli Starts Role as Head of the Department of Economics

Professor Davide Romelli is an Associate Professor and Research Affiliate of IM-TCD (International Macro-TCD) and SUERF. His research focuses on Central Bank Independence and it has been covered in major media outlets including The Economist, Financial Times, Reuters, CNN, Le Monde, and Der Spiegel, as well as by the White House Council of Economic Advisers.

Speaking about his new role as Head of Department, Professor Romelli said:

I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of Head of the Department of Economics. I am very grateful for the trust that colleagues have placed in me, and I look forward to working with them to support the continued development of the Department in the coming years.

The Department has a strong international reputation, but what makes it special is also the collegial, collaborative, and supportive environment that colleagues have built over time. One of my priorities will be to preserve and strengthen that culture, while helping the Department continue to grow as a welcoming place for students, researchers, and colleagues at all stages of their careers.
