Opening remarks were made by Daragh Clancy, Head of the Monetary Policy Division at the Central Bank. The keynote address by Professor Hélène Rey centred on her research in finance and macroeconomics. Professor Rey holds the Lord Bagri Chair at London Business School and her work on the global financial cycle has fundamentally reshaped how economists and policymakers think about international capital flows and monetary policy spillovers.

Speaking of the event, Dr Martyna Marczak wrote:

Beyond the research itself, the day underscored a broader point: the pool of women conducting frontier work in macroeconomics is deep and growing. The challenge now is ensuring that the visibility of women's research becomes a feature of the profession at large. There is still work to do, and forums like this one are a meaningful step in the right direction
