The award is given annually and is announced at the EAERE Annual Conference. This year, the conference was held on 1 July 2026 in Carcavelos, Portugal.
Professor Gaia Narciso won the award with her co-author Caterina Gennaioli for their paper 'Toxic Roads' published in Environmental and Resource Economics in 2025.
