Orlaith Tunney
Orlaith is a Careers Consultant supporting students across the Schools of Creative Arts; English; Histories & Humanities; Languages, Literatures & Cultural Studies; and Religion, Theology & Peace Studies. She also provides guidance to students on Multi-Faculty and Multi-School course combinations involving these disciplines.
She has led and contributed to a wide range of local, national, and international projects focused on areas such as transferable skills development, career planning for Early Career Researchers, alumni-to-student mentoring, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), podcasting and employability module coordination.
Orlaith holds an MA in Career Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education from the University of Warwick, a Higher Diploma in Third Level Teaching & Learning from Technological University Dublin (TUD), and both a Higher Diploma in Guidance and Counselling and a BSc in Food Science & Technology from University College Cork (UCC). She is certified to administer both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Emotional Intelligence EQ-i 2.0 assessment tools.
Before joining Trinity, Orlaith worked in mainland Europe as a Food Technologist and Sales Executive. She brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her work, shaped by her industry, personal and academic experience.
Orlaith is a member of the Association of Higher Education Careers Services (AHECS, Ireland), the National Institute for Careers Education and Counselling (NICEC, UK), and the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS, UK). She is also a former director of AHECS.
