How can I do postgraduate training in the Smurfit Institute of Genetics?
If you wish to do a Ph.D. in this department you must, in the first instance, identify a supervisor who is willing to take you on. Details of research projects are available from individual members of the academic staff.
Progress in the postgraduate education programme is monitored through thesis planning meetings (at 9 months) and PhD confirmation reports (at 18 months).
Postgraduate students are required to present seminars and to attend presentations in the Department's seminar programme. They are also strongly encouraged to attend national and international scientific conferences.
