Dr Matthias Dilling awarded the 2025 Brian Farrell Book Prize by the Political Studies Association of Ireland.On Saturday, 18th October, Dr Matthias Dilling was announced as the winner of the 2025 Brian Farrell Book Prize by the Political Studies Association of Ireland for his book, Parties under Pressure: The Politics of Factions and Party Adaptation, published by University of Chicago Press. The PSAI awards this annual prize for the best book published in political science by a member of the Political Studies Association of Ireland. -
An Engaged Audience for Prof Boussalis, Dr Paskhalis & Dr Cinar Lecture on AICan democracy survive the age of Artificial Intelligence? This was the question that was addressed at a packed Synge Theatre on Thursday, 16th October. Prof Boussalis, Dr Paskhalis & Dr Cinar each presented papers on how Artificial Intelligence could reshape the global political landscape in years to come and what this means for democrarcy. The talk was followed by a lively Q&A with the audience. Thanks to the professors for an engaging evening.

Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship ProgrammeThe Political Science Department welcomes applications under the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, a scheme managed by the Irish Research Council (IRC). The programme is open to applicants from all countries for one or two years of research. Interested candidates should contact a potential supervisor or mentor within the department before applying.
