Research topic : Core networks of Polish migrants to Ireland in times of economic boom and recession: ethnic composition, bridging/bonding capital, social cleavage and life satisfaction.

Networks play multiple roles in lives of migrants, as a source of various resources. Close networks with members of local community are one of key factors of social integration. My PhD thesis explores core networks of Polish migrants and resources available within, bridging/bonding social capital and aspects of status cleavage of networks. The study draws on two projects: Polonia in Dublin dataset (2009-10), containing 625 observations of long-term Polish migrants, and Causes and Consequences of Socio- Cultural Integration Processes among New Migrants in Europe (SCIP) project dataset (2010-11), containing newly arrived migrants (after 2010).
