Research topic : Essays on Fiscal and Monetary Policy

My research examines the dependence of fiscal and monetary policy effects on the prevailing economic environment. While theoretical research has shown that transmission mechanisms depend on a number of economic factors, including the exchange rate regime, access to credit and trade openness, empirical evidence to support these arguments remains limited. My first paper examines the differing effects of fiscal and monetary policy shocks in fixed versus flexible exchange rate regimes.
