Research topic : Freedom of Religious Expression in a Secularised Europe: The Balance of this Fundamental Human Right in Europe and Ireland

This research question addresses the problem of religious expression in a secular society and to what extent it can be curtailed by law in the case of extremism. While including many religious groups this research will centrally address the conflict which arises from Islamic religious expression in Europe and Ireland. It intends to deal with core issues affecting the social and cultural integration of Europe and provide a resource for the State and private organisations in conflict resolution. It intends to establish the extent to which Ireland and Europe can legislate to equalise all communities, regardless of religious expression.
