The Department announces graduate studentships for entry into the PhD programme in September 2012. In addition, it is now accepting applications for places on its two masters programmes.

The Department of Political Science at Trinity College, University of Dublin, is one of the top Political Science departments in Europe. It is a vibrant, outward-looking department that combines intensive research activity with the strongest commitment to high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. It is a member of the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, one of around 24 schools within Trinity.

The Department is located beside the main Trinity campus in the centre of Dublin, next to the world-famous Temple Bar area and within a few minutes' walk of a huge range of amenities: the Houses of the Oireachtas (Ireland's parliament), most government departments, the National Library, Dublin's main shopping streets, and many of Dublin's finest coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. The Trinity College Library, as well as containing the Book of Kells (one of the most outstanding examples of medieval art, and a leading tourist attraction), is a copyright library and as such is a world-class resource for students and researchers. Trinity's city centre location gives it excellent transport connections to the rest of the city and the surrounding towns and countryside.
